Media Air Cleaners
The air you breathe is filled with pollutants like pollen, dust, pet hair and dander, dust mites, tobacco smoke, and other irritants. The truth is that indoor air can be up to five times more polluted than the air outdoors because of today's weather-tight homes and buildings.
It is absolutely essential to have a quality filtration system in your home that is regularly cleaned and maintained. Otherwise, polluted air can cause many health issues, such as allergies, asthma, and migranes, for you and your family.
Media filtration is are far more effective than standard system filters. Their products generally use a disposable fabric type filter to capture particulates and achieve their efficiency.
How does a media air cleaner work?
Air is passed through a filter and the particles are trapped by:

- Impingement - large particles collide with a fiber while air passes around the fiber.
- Interception - small particles move in the air-stream but are attracted to the fiber with a stronger force than carries the particle in the air stream.
- Diffusion - very small particles too small to follow streamlines will follow irregular paths because they are being hit by gas particles. These particles collide with fibers and are retained.
- Straining - a particle is too large to pass between the gaps in the fiber matrix.
